Tummy tuck is also known as abdominoplasty. Tummy tuck is a procedure that removes extra fat and extra skin off of your tummy. If it is done well it strengthens loose muscles in the abdomen. Flat tummy is of course one thing many of us are trying to achieve. Beauty industry enforces beauty ideals and one of those is flat tummy with abdominal muscles well toned. That’s why thousands and thousands of patients every year decide to have tummy tuck. In my opinion that is not a bad plastic surgery.
Why does tummy become saggy and loose? Weight problems, gaining weight and loosing it in short periods, pregnancy, age and some surgeries might make our tummy saggy. Anyway, it should be clear that abdominoplasty can not substitute good exercise. Plastic surgery can not substitute well planned weight loss.
Let’s focus then on risks with tummy tuck. Some of those risks might be even life threatening. As with any plastic surgery one should consider between potential benefits, costs and risks that goes along. Remember: bad plastic operation is always the most expensive one!
In general abdominoplasty is quite safe operation. Severe complication is not common, in fact it is very rare. However it is good to know that if plastic surgery gone wrong thrombosis, infection, or blood clots may occur. In some cases there can be cardiac or pulmonary post operative trouble. Heart attack and stroke were also reported in some very very rare cases. Most of those rare complications occur inside the first 72 hours after the operation.
One very common result after plastic surgery gone wrong is gathering of fluid under the skin. Scars may also be well seen, long and they last forever. Scars are not the reason one could say that is a bad plastic operation.
There can be of course many less serious trouble with tummy tuck. Make sure you check possibilities, learn about the subject and consult it with doctor.
